The Birth of a Replica - Part 1
One of the most asked questions we get from our collectors is "how do you make a diecast replica?" We hear it at trade shows, we hear it in phone conversations, and we read it in e-mails and letters. It is actually quite a long process that demands extensive research and attention to details. Many First Gear collectibles take up to a year to develop.
In this month's and next month's cover stories we will provide details of how the replicas are made, from first engineering stages to the end production stage. Part one of the series is the designing of the detailed replica and what is developed before we send the model to production.
